Personhood Alliance announces leadership change

Contact: Les Riley, interim president, Personhood Alliance, 202-888-6333
America’s fastest growing national pro-life organization, the Personhood Alliance, announced today the election of an interim president, Les Riley, to serve out the remaining term of former president, Gualberto Garcia Jones, Esq., who accepted a VP position at LifeSiteNews. Les will fulfill the role of interim president until March, 2021.
Les Riley has been involved with Personhood since 2008 as the founder and president of Personhood Alliance affiliate Personhood Mississippi. Les served as vice president of the Personhood Alliance before stepping into the interim role. He has been involved in grassroots activism and sidewalk outreach since 1991 and most recently, helped seven towns in Mississippi pass “Safe City for the Unborn” resolutions as part of the Personhood Alliance’s Sanctuaries Cities for Life initiative.  Les and his wife Christy have 11 children and 12 grandchildren and are involved in adoption, foster care, and promoting Biblical orphan care in the Church and culture. Les has ministered in North America and Africa and helped establish the Morning Center in Memphis, Tennessee, leading the organization from 2014 to 2017. The Morning Center operates full-service maternity clinics in inner city neighborhoods, providing full service, high-quality prenatal, delivery, and post-partum care in the name of Jesus at no cost, completely funded through private charity.
“Equal protection of and respect for all human beings made in the image of God has long been a burden of mine and is desperately needed in our day,” explains Les. “I am grateful the Lord has given me the opportunity to be in this fight and to serve this Alliance of principled personhood organizations. We are truly a grassroots, bottom-up group. I encourage all Christians who long to see life protected and family values defended, but who are discouraged by failed pro-life strategies and the pragmatic status quo, to join our efforts.”
“On behalf of the national board of directors, I congratulate Les on his new role and know that his background, experience, and commitment to the Lord will propel the Personhood Alliance forward and advance the mission of personhood throughout the country,” says former president Gualberto Garcia Jones, Esq. The president of Personhood Alliance Education, Sarah Quale, agrees. “I have worked with Les on numerous projects over the last few years and know firsthand his commitment to protecting human life and human dignity, across the life spectrum and according to God’s Word. I’m looking forward to serving alongside him as the personhood movement grows.”
The Personhood Alliance is a confederation of 26 independent pro-life organizations who pursue personhood as the essential strategy for restoring legal protections to every human being—from biological beginning to natural death, without exception—and who endeavor to uphold the Biblical worldview in 21st-century politics and culture by honoring God’s design for life, marriage, family, sexuality, and gender.
